As part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation in both academic and scientific fields, Mr. Hartani Tarik, Director of the National Higher School of Agriculture, received on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the school’s headquarters in Algiers, a diplomatic delegation from the Republic of Malta. The delegation consisted of Ms. Marsim Cassar, Consular Officer, and Ms. Gazi Ahlam, Diplomatic Attaché. The reception ceremony was attended by Mr. Laribi Abdelkader, Assistant Director for Information Systems, Communication, and External Relations; Mr. Boumaza Nassim, Secretary General; Ms. BenHouhou Salima, Head of the Plant Sciences Department; Mr. Bouznad Zouaoui, Head of Plant Production Department; Ms. Guedioura Ilham, Head of Rural Engineering Department; Mr. Ghozlane Mohamed Khalil, Head of Animal Production Department; Ms. Aichar Fairouz, Head of Food Technology Department; Mr. Hadj Miloud Samir, Head of Soil Science Department; Professor Haitous Selim, and Ms. Sid Nassira, the school librarian.
During the visit, the two parties discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in the areas of training (mobility of professors and students) and scientific research, particularly in: cheese production, olive cultivation, water treatment, irrigation, potable water, renewable energy projects for small agricultural enterprises, smart farming, and the use of new technologies and artificial intelligence in agriculture.
Both parties expressed their commitment to working together to find appropriate scientific solutions to address various agricultural challenges, especially given the existence of diplomatic mechanisms within the framework of joint committees between the two countries and the political will to support the university’s openness to the economic sector.
On this occasion, a comprehensive presentation was given, introducing the delegation members to the history of the school’s founding, its objectives, structure, and various departments, in addition to student life and the different supporting bodies. The presentation also covered the school’s fields of work and its partners at the regional and international levels.
The diplomatic delegation’s visit concluded with Ms. Marsim Cassar signing the school’s Golden Book and being honored by Director Mr. Hartani Tarik, followed by a commemorative photo taken in the school’s main hall.
